National Geographic - National Geographic is the official magazine of the National Geographic Society. It has been published continuously since its first issue in 1888, nine months after the Society itself was founded. It primarily contains articles about science, geography, history, and world culture.

Smithsonian Magazine - Looks at the topics and subject matters researched, studied and exhibited by the Smithsonian Institution -- science, history, art, popular culture and innovation.

Popular Science - Popular Science is an American quarterly magazine carrying popular science content, which refers to articles for the general reader on science and technology subjects. Popular Science has won over 58 awards, including the American Society of Magazine Editors awards for its journalistic excellence in both 2003 and 2004. (Keep in mind that many products featured on this site were editorially chosen. TED Talks - TED Conferences, LLC is a media organization that posts talks online for free distribution, under the slogan "ideas worth spreading". TED was founded in February 1984 as a conference, which has been held annually since 1990.

LiveScience  - Live Science is a science news website. Stories and editorial commentary are typically syndicated to major news outlets, such as Yahoo!, MSNBC, AOL, and Fox News. (Try searching for "invention" or "innovation", etc.)

 

Tips

If you are finding too many results, think of how you might add or take away words to limit your results. Remember to take the time to read what you're referencing and to think about what you're reading: does it seem plausible; does it seem well researched; what are some examples of faked discoveries throughout history and how did those shape our current thinking?
