Required Books: Mathematics

Below you will find links to the books required for your math class for the 2020/21 school year. Each class has its own "box" of required books, so be sure you are looking at the correct class before you make any purchases. Algebra Skills

Algebra II

The students do NOT need to purchase a hardcover text. All students will be charged $12 for an e-copy of Big Ideas Algebra II. If they would also like a supplemental hardcover version, it is located here at the link below.

Honors Algebra II

The students do not need to purchase a textbook. The teacher will develop and hand out all the necessary notes and materials. However, if the student would like a secondary reference, we recommend Axler's Precalculus: A Prelude to Calculus, located at the link below.

AP AB Calculus

We will assign homework from this edition. Please email your instructor if you cannot find a used copy for under $25.

AP BC Calculus

Computer Science 1A: The Python Language

The students do not need to purchase a textbook. However, they will be charged approximately $30 for a subscription to our online platform, www.cocalc.com.

Computer Science 2: Algorithms

Geometry

The students do not need to purchase a textbook. They will use a combination of OES-created materials as well as open source EngageNY geometry materials located here.

Foundations of Calculus and Statistics

Students should NOT purchase this text themselves. Students will receive an access code in the fall, and their accounts will be billed for access to the e-textbook.

Machine Learning

The students do not need a textbook. They only need a laptop (preferably a Mac, otherwise the student must be good at troubleshooting a Windows machine themselves) with sufficient memory and processing speed for machine learning computations.

Precalculus

Students should NOT purchase this text themselves. Students will receive an access code in the fall, and their accounts will be billed for access to the e-textbook.

Honors Precalculus

We will assign homework from this edition during the second semester. Please email your instructor if you cannot find a used copy for under $25.

AP Statistics

The students do not need to purchase a text. They will be given a classroom copy of Stats: Modeling The World to borrow for the year.

 

Vector Calculus
